AI Backing Track Generator

Turn any song into a backing track to practice and jam over — built from the track's own detected key, tempo and chords. Upload a song, and ChordSonic will generate a play-along version that follows the real progression, so a guitar backing track in A minor actually comes from a song in A minor. Loop it, slow it down, and practice your part over a band that keeps up.

This generator is in development. The chord, key and tempo detection behind it is already live and free — try it on any track while the backing-track feature is on the way.

01

Upload your song

Drop an MP3 or WAV. ChordSonic detects the key, tempo and full chord progression — the same analysis that already powers the chord finder today.

02

Backing track built to match

From that analysis it will generate a backing track — drums, bass and harmony following the same chords at the same tempo, in the same key. No blank prompt, no guessing.

03

Practice and play along

Loop a tricky section, slow it down without changing the pitch, and play your part over a band that follows the song. Great for solos, rhythm work and learning by ear.

In your key, at your tempo

Backing tracks that come from the song, not a blank prompt.

Most backing tracks force you to hunt for the right key or settle for a generic loop. Because ChordSonic already reads the key, tempo and chord progression from your upload, the backing track inherits all three — a guitar backing track in any key, at the song's real tempo, over its actual changes.

That makes it a natural fit for a practice track to woodshed a solo, a play-along trackto drill your rhythm part, or a jam bed to improvise over. It works from the music you bring, so what you practice over matches what you're trying to learn.

Backing Track Generator FAQ

What is a backing track generator?

It turns a song into a backing track — the full band minus the part you want to play — so you can practice, jam and improvise over it. ChordSonic's version is different from most: instead of starting from a blank prompt, it builds the backing track from the real key, tempo and chord progression it already detected in a song you upload, so the track follows the actual music.

How will it work?

Upload a song and ChordSonic reads its key, tempo and chords. From that analysis it will generate a matching backing track — drums, bass and harmony that follow the same progression at the same tempo, in the same key — that you can loop, slow down and play along to. Because it starts from your song's detected structure rather than a text prompt, the result stays true to the music you gave it.

Can I get a guitar backing track in a specific key?

That's the whole idea. The backing track inherits the key and tempo detected in your upload, so a guitar backing track in A minor at 120 BPM comes straight from a song that's actually in A minor at 120 BPM. You'll be able to loop a section and slow it down to work on your solo or rhythm part.

Who is it for?

Anyone who practices over a track: guitarists, bassists and keyboard players working on solos and improvisation, students learning a song's chords, and songwriters who want a play-along bed to try ideas over. If you've ever searched YouTube for a backing track in the right key, this builds one from the song itself.

Is this the same as cloning the song?

No. It doesn't copy or reproduce the original recording. It reads musical facts — the key, the tempo, the chord progression — and generates a new backing track that shares that structure, the same way a musician can play along to a song from its chord chart.

When is it launching?

It's in development. The chord, key and tempo detection that powers it is already live and free to use today — the backing-track generation is the piece we're building next. Add your email and we'll let you know the moment it's ready.
