A take usually comes back in 15–35 seconds. Leave “Detect chords too” on and the finished track arrives with its chords, key and tempo detected about 15 seconds later, on the same play-along timeline as an analysed upload.

The studio itself doesn't take an upload — it takes words. But a track you already have can seed it: analyse the song the usual way, then press Create a track on the result page. Its detected key, tempo and chord progression arrive in the studio already filled in and labelled as coming from your track, and you can change any of them before you generate.
Either way, the summary on the right of the studio is the honest version of your request. Key, tempo, meter and a fixed length go out as exact instructions the generator has to honour; a chord progression has no separate input, so it rides inside the brief as an aim — usually landed, never promised. Anything on Auto is simply not sent, and the generator picks what fits the words.

What is the track generator?
It's a studio where you describe the track you want — “epic film score, low brass, solo cello” — and ChordSonic generates it. Everything else is optional: vocals or instrumental, a fixed length, a key, a tempo, a meter, a chord progression to aim for, how literally the brief is read, and how many takes to render at once. Leave a control on Auto and the generator chooses something that fits the brief.
Can I generate from a song I already have?
Yes, and it starts with an analysis rather than an upload into the studio. Analyse the song the usual way, then press “Create a track” on the result page: the detected key, tempo and chord progression are handed over to the studio with the fields already filled in and labelled as coming from your track. You can change any of them before you generate.
How long does a track take?
A take usually comes back in 15–35 seconds, and “Detect chords too” adds about 15 seconds on top of that for reading the track back. After a quiet spell the first take can take about a minute longer. After that, renders come back at the usual speed. Asking for more takes at once renders more audio, so a batch takes longer than a single take.
Do I get the chords of the track it generates?
If you ask for them. Turn on “Detect chords too” and the finished track goes through the same chord, key and tempo detection an uploaded song gets, then opens in the normal player with a play-along chord timeline. It is a second operation with its own price — one analysis credit on top of the generation — so it is a toggle rather than something that happens silently.
How exactly does it follow what I ask for?
The studio says so line by line. Key, tempo, meter and a fixed length are sent as instructions the generator has to honour, and the summary marks them “exact”. A chord progression has no separate input on the generator, so it travels inside the brief as a request and is marked “aim” — it usually lands, but it is not guaranteed. Anything left on Auto is not sent at all.
Can I generate the same track twice?
Yes — that is what the seed lock is for. A repeat needs a few settings to line up first, and the studio names any that are still missing right next to the control. With the lock on and those conditions met, the same settings return the same take; with it off, every run is a new one.
Does it copy or clone existing songs?
No. Nothing you generate is built from someone else's recording — a brief is words, and it produces new audio outright. When you start from a song of your own, what carries over is musical facts: key, tempo and chord progression, the same things a band reads off a chord chart before playing its own version.
What does it cost?
Generations cost credits, and how many you get depends on your plan — anonymous visitors get a daily allowance, a signed-in account draws from a monthly balance instead. Either way the studio shows what you have left before you press Generate. Asking for the chords of the finished track spends credits too. The pricing page lists what each plan includes.
