- The guitar row starts ticked and nothing else does, so the default download is the part alone.
- Tick drums and bass alongside it when a riff only makes sense against the groove behind it.
- Ticked parts bounce down to one MP3; each row also downloads separately if you would rather keep them apart.
Hearing the part is only half of learning it.
Once the guitar is alone you can hear how it is played — whether that chord is a barre or an open shape with a ringing string, whether the lick is picked or hammered. Tabs guess at that; the isolated recording tells you.
For the harmony, press To Chords on the guitar row and the part goes through detection on its own — a clean read that the guitar chord finder turns into a chord chart. For a single-note riff or solo, send it to the audio-to-MIDI converter and read the notes off a piano-roll instead of counting frets by ear.

How do I isolate the guitar in a song?
Choose the Extended separation setting before you upload — that is the one that gives guitar a track of its own — then leave guitar as the only ticked part in the result panel and download. What comes back is the guitar without the drums, bass or vocals sitting on top of it.
Why is there no guitar stem in my result?
The Standard setting splits a song four ways and folds guitar in with everything that is not drums, bass or vocals. Guitar only lands on its own track under the Extended setting, which is available on the Supporter and Pro plans. Pick Extended above the Separate button and the guitar row appears in the results.
What happens when a song has two or three guitars?
They arrive together. Separation works by instrument type, not by take, so a rhythm part, a doubled overdub and the lead all share the guitar track. That is still a huge step up from the full mix when you are trying to hear a voicing, but it will not hand you the solo on its own.
Can I hear the guitar without the effects?
No — reverb, delay and distortion are part of the recorded sound rather than a layer sitting over it, so they come along with the part. What you gain is space: with the band gone you can finally hear where a note is actually being bent, muted or let ring.
How do I find out which chords are being played?
Press To Chords on the guitar row after separation. The isolated part goes through chord detection on its own, which often reads more clearly than the full mix because there is no bass note or vocal line pulling the harmony in another direction.
Is it free, and how long does it take?
One separation a day needs no account and no card, and most songs come back inside a couple of minutes. A free account raises that daily allowance if you are working through a whole album.
